Uniondale, New York, May 5, 2021 – GF Sports & Entertainment, a global sports and entertainment events and operations company, today announced the company has named Anthony Gioia to the new position of Vice President of Production, Operations and Creative Services. Gioia has more than 20 years experience in event operations, event production and creative content having worked on some of the biggest events in sports and entertainment, including the Summer Olympic Games, NHL Winter Classic, US Open Tennis Championships, NFL and NHL Drafts.

 

In his new position, Gioia will focus on overall event development, logistics and production for GF Sports & Entertainment’s properties. He will be responsible for developing and building innovative and creative events while finding operational efficiencies across the organization. In addition, he will work with the company’s leadership team to explore new business ventures as GF Sports & Entertainment looks to expand.

Prior to joining GF Sports & Entertainment, Gioia was Senior Director of Event Presentation for Comcast-Spectacor. In the role, he served concurrent Executive Producer, Producer, Event Director, and Creative Director functions within marketing, game presentation and special events areas for the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) and Philadelphia Wings (NLL), Philadelphia Fusion (Overwatch League) in addition to large-scale special events, such as the 2010 NHL Winter Classic, 2011 NCAA Wrestling Championship, 2014 NHL Draft, 2018 Stadium Series, and 2019 Global Series. Over the past five years, Gioia has also worked as a freelance Producer for Van Wagner Productions where he assisted in the production of a variety of live, virtual and ancillary entertainment programming. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Game Operations for the New Jersey Devils.
